Todd Haley - What Will You Accomplish With Your Power?

In Luke 9, Jesus is entering the last year of His ministry.  What would He teach?  How would He form the Army?  Who will take over when He is gone? Luke gives us some interesting insight into each of these questions...

1.  Notice how Jesus empowers those who follow Him...

Luke 9:1-10

As they were tryin to tell Him all they had done...ministry interrupted...5000 ended up needing to be fed.

When Luke brings us back, the focus changes from the disciples and their accomplishments and returns to Jesus and what He will accomplish.

2.  Notice the price we are expected to pay...Christianity is not cheap...Salvation is a free gift, but Discipleship is expensive.

Luke 9:18-27

As the Disciples begin livin into thir new ministry abilities...they begin disputing among themselves who is the greatest disciple among the twelve.

3. Notice how focus may be the greatest difficulty we have as Christians...

Luke 9:49-62

So this morning I challenge You...

As we Begin this new Journey together...
Let us remember where our expectations should be...

To give it all...in the Name of Jesus the Christ...

This Journey is not about me, nor is it about You. It is about Christ and seeing the Father Glorified.
