A Lack of Judgment

A Lack of Judgment

Pastor Todd Haley

 1.  Notice the Bible teaches us not to pass Judgment on a person

1 Corinthians 4:1-5

 2.   Notice that it does call us to pass Judgment on Actions

1 Corinthians 5:1-3

 3.  Notice the separation of the action from the Person

1 Corinthians 5:4-5

 4.  Notice the Danger of the Action

1 Corinthians 5:6

John 8:34 - Jesus answered them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin.

5.   Notice the Remedy

1 Corinthians 5:7-8

Mark 9:43-47  Jesus Said---

43 If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life maimed, rather than having two hands, to go to hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched— 44 where Their worm does not die And the fire is not quenched.’

45 And if your foot causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life lame, rather than having two feet, to be cast into hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched— 46 whereTheir worm does not die And the fire is not quenched.’

47 And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye, rather than having two eyes, to be cast into hell fire— 48 where Their worm does not die And the fire is not quenched.

1John 1:9  - If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Romans 5:6  - For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.

Romans 5:8 - But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 6

1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? 2 Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? 3 Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? 4 Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

5 For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, 6 knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. 7 For he who has died has been freed from sin. 8 Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, 9 knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him. 10 For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. 11 Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. 13 And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.14 For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.

John 8:36 - "Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.

Are You Living a Life of Freedom…

or are you being Restrained by your sin?

Freedom can be yours…

if you are willing to put it away through the

gift of grace available in Jesus Christ.
